Changing Sloppy Habits For The Better

The art of home organising Some people have it. Some don’t. Looking around at one or two of nearby houses, we’re veering towards the latter. I take heart that after many years of fighting my way through chaotic junk strewn hallways and living rooms that I now appreciate the fundamentals of having a system. It’s now so much better and easier to manage. My revolution began with a short list of absolute bugbears and I started at the top – sorting out incoming mail and paperwork. It now gets sorted on a weekly basis. Anything that has to be kept is filed in the right place first time. Then kitchen. I now wash & wipe up and put everything away immediately after meals rather than tell myself I’ll do it later. That way I can get on to the next part of the day or evening without it hanging over me! Bathroom tidying – now after showering, I dry and get dressed quickly and then sponge down the cubicle and wipe off the work tops. I even put the toothepaste away immediately!
