I live on a fairly ordinary housing development – quite posh some 16 years ago when our large family detached was finally finished and we moved in. The houses are all fully carpeted, fully sealed triple glazed windows and doors and very very few real fires – in fact only log burners have crept into some houses in recent years. So we’re not talking massive amounts of physical dusting or sweeping up needed. Why then does my house always look as if it hasn’t been vacuumed for a year, and why does the sink not shine abundantly as it did when I first set eyes on it! Every day life produces dirt in different ways. From the garden on shoes and pets produce hair and mud. My neighbour engages an agency who weekly clean and vacuum and one a month they go to town on the windows, outside areas and even better – the family car, inside and out! Wooh fantastic.
