I have recently returned from a very different kind of break away and spent 4 days on a narrowboat on a canal in the heart of England. After the initial strange sensation once the craft had got going, . . . . it was back to sitting around, reading, eating, talking or dare I suggest it, sleeping off the earlier eating and drinking! There was masses of food and drink for a small band of folk. The living quarters were bijoux – as you would expect. Room to swing one and a bit cats maybe in the guest suite. The sliding door to the guest shower room was rather stiff and this was due to a build up of crud. It soon became apparent that there was much cleaning needed. I suggested my favourite cleaning company be contacted for a quote to give the ‘old girl’ a really good going over, especially the galley and essential washroom – for a sweeter freedom from then on.
